A great opportunity to attend a local one and a half day course, where you’ll learn from professional charcoal maker John Liversidge, how to make charcoal and biochar at Coed Talylan a 70 acre woodland in the Brecon Beacons, Wales.
You will go through the whole process of traditional charcoal making using a ring kiln as well as looking at other methods specifically used to produce biochar.
You will also be joined by Ed Revill a pioneer in biochar producing technologies and applied biochar techniques developed as part of his system no-till farming in South Wales. Ed will be demonstrating other small scale methods of making biochar, in particular the heat capturing wood gasifying stoves he build.
Food is provided with and dinner on the first day will be made with Ed Revill’s mobile biochar producing kitchen!
