The Black Mountain Food Hub works like an online farmers market where local consumers can buy direct from local food producers through our website. Customers can order online anytime from Wednesday to Tuesday Midnight and then collect their order from the Station Hub on the following Friday. Alternatively, we offer delivery between Llandeilo and Llandovery every Friday afternoon.
Customers can log on to the site, browse a range of fresh local produce and add any items they like to their online shopping basket. Whilst browsing, you can view the details about the product, how, who and where it comes from. When you’re finished shopping, you can place your order, choose a payment method (cash, cheque, or bank transfer) and a delivery option (home delivery or collection). On Friday morning your order is packed ready for collection at the Llandeilo Station Hub (12pm – 2pm), Llandeilo Pick – up Point (3pm – 6pm), Llandovery Pick-up points or home delivery in the afternoon. We also have a Saturday Pick – up Point at Llansadwrn Reading Rooms (10am – mid-day).
For more information about joining as a consumer member see our Getting Involved page.
Producers can sign up with us, add their products to our online catalogue, and set the price they want to sell them for. Each producer can have a profile page on our site, where customers can learn a bit about where there food is coming from. Because of our low overheads we only charge a 15% mark up to help cover our running costs.
Every Wednesday we send an order to each producer for them to delivery the produce to us by Friday morning. We then pack the individual boxes for each customer for collection or delivery Friday afternoon. Collection times vary for pick-points, this will be shown when you choose you preferred option.
